Mount of Olives
The Mount of Olives , is a special place for Christians and a frequent stop for guided tours in Israel, the location is east of the Old City of Jerusalem and separates it from the Judean desert. The mount is named after the olive groves that once covered the slopes. The Mount of Olives is a prominent holy site referenced in the Scriptures, beginning with King David’s escape during the rebellion of his son Absalom, after by the prophets, but especially by the New Testament, where Jesus’ and his disciples frequented the area.
